On Saturday 14th December, Kirsty and Andy held a Christmas Crafts and Baking Workshop at Theddlethorpe Village Hall. This one-day course was funded by Multiply, a government-funded programme designed to help those over 19 with their maths skills.
The morning consisted of participants using weighing and measuring skills to bake festive focaccia, Brie and cranberry sausage roll wreaths and gingerbread mince pies. Participants were able to improve their maths skills through practical tasks. Angie, who attended the course, said “it was an incredible day. I learnt so much. Who knew I could make bread and pastry”.
Kirsty and Andy prepared a festive lunch for the group. Everyone was able to try their own focaccia, and sausage rolls that they had made, along with buffet food provided. Around the table, conversation flowed, and the atmosphere felt warm, Christmassy and like everyone was part of the community.
After lunch, Kirsty carried out a Christmas craft activity where she showed the group how to make origami stars. It was lovely to see people help each other, step-by-step to create a final piece.
Angie said “your courses give so much to the Lincolnshire Community. You create a safe comfortable space where we can grow and become more confident. I can’t thank you both enough for this wonderful day”.
