The Easter weekend saw Just Begin host a lamb pie making workshop designed for individuals to take the opportunity to try something new.
The workshop started with our experienced chef, Andy, demonstrating how to create a rough puff pastry that would become the base and top for their delicious lamb and mint dish.
Individuals learnt how to prepare their vegetables for their lamb and mint pie filling using knife skills, led by Andy. After mixing together their ingredients, individuals cooked their lamb, mint and vegetables on a low heat before adding gravy.
The second part of the session saw individuals follow instructions on how to roll their pastry and line their pastry case.
After adding their chilled down filling, each person was able to cover the top of the pie with pastry and create their own designs to decorate their pie.
Pies, were egg-washed and cooked in a rationale oven until golden brown. Each individual took away their recipe card, pie dish and their own goodie bag so that they could then remake the delicious restaurant standard dish in the comfort of their own home.
